Should Hope Have Had Custody of Douglas on Bold and the Beautiful?

Hope Logan Spencer is somehow shocked that Thomas Forrester wants his son back on The Bold and the Beautiful. It’s been several years since Thomas had so many mental health struggles that he was unable to take care of Douglas, but once his health started improving he has been the ideal dad to a child Hope has no real ties to.

When Hope (Annika Noelle) did get custody of the boy, she even coerced Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) into signing the papers to get custody of a child whose father she was married to for a hot minute before understandably having the marriage annulled. But should Hope have ever had Douglas (now played by Django Ferri) in her care, to begin with? That’s exactly what Soap Hub asked.

B&B: What About The Forresters?

Was there even a reason that Thomas’s family couldn’t have taken in Douglas while Thomas going through a world of troubles? That’s what 44% of you want to know. Why didn’t they step up and offer to take care of Douglas? What happened to his Grandpa Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and his loving Aunt Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)? It never made any sense that Hope, a woman not blood-related to Douglas would become his guardian.

Bold and the Beautiful: A Temporary Thing?

Another 31% of you think Hope was the perfect choice to take care of Douglas, at least for the time being while Thomas was getting well. It never should have been a permanent thing, especially with Douglas frequently expressing how much he missed his own dad. But Hope had her perfect little log cabin family, even if one of the kids under her roof belonged to someone else.

Of Course, Hope Deserved Him

At least the final 25% of you believe that Hope is just the perfect choice to take care of Douglas. Thomas was a complete mess and couldn’t be a father at that time. Douglas loved Hope and Beth and wanted to stay, but even Douglas seems to believe this wasn’t a permanent deal.
