Two things are a given about weddings on The Bold and the Beautiful. They’ll likely be held at the Forrester mansion, and Carter Walton will likely preside. The guest list, however, is always up for grabs. Eric Forrester is at his son Ridge’s wedding to Taylor, which makes sense. Or does it?
It’s Eric’s (John McCook) house, of course, and he’s right to play host to the (relatively) sparse guest list. But should Eric be present for the nuptials, given his character’s history with all the players? Soap Hub asked B&B fans to weigh in on this topic.
Many of you, about 44%, say that Eric should probably not be sticking around for Ridge and Taylor’s wedding, but you feel that it’s good he at least expressed his thoughts on the subject.
Forget about Eric’s past with the bride, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen). The real reason Eric could have voiced a silent protest with his absence is that he knows deep down that Ridge and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) belong together. In fact, if anyone should know this, it’s Eric! As Brooke’s twice-divorced husband, it wouldn’t be unheard of for Eric to skip the ceremony. After all, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) serves as the best man.
A good portion of you, 39%, say that yes, Eric should definitely be there. For starters, many family members are nowhere to be found for this special occasion (probably because it happened so quickly.) But missing from this wedding are Ridge’s siblings Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon), Felicia Forrester (Lesli Kay), and Kristen Forrester (Tracy Melchior). There’s also his half-brother Nick Marone (Jack Wagner), Ridge’s son R.J. Forrester (Anthony Turpel), and his biological dad Massimo Marone (the late Joe Mascolo). The main reason Eric needs to be there is for support. There’s no telling when Ridge will come around to the fact that he should be with Brooke. Ridge will need Eric’s support when that happens.
The rest of you, around 17%, say that Eric should have politely excused himself from the wedding ceremony and reception and hightailed it over to Brooke’s house to support not only Brooke but current squeeze Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis). Of course, Donna wouldn’t be present for her former brother-in-law’s wedding to her sister’s rival. Eric’s last wife, Quinn Fuller Forrester, took issue with him for not more firmly siding with her over his disapproving family. That’s a mistake Eric might not want to repeat.
