Leave it to Douglas Forrester to always tell the truth when he needs to on The Bold and the Beautiful. Sometimes it seems he is the only character on the soap to know right from wrong and he has to guide his adults along the way. For the second time this year, he was told not to give away a secret and for the second time this year, he said nope, and told all.
This time, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), let Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in on the fact that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is the one who called CPS on himself and used a voice-altering app on Douglas’s phone to make it sound as if Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) made the call. Steffy was absolutely outraged when she fully comprehended what Douglas was telling her, but was this a shock to you?
For 59% of you, Steffy’s reaction was completely in character — the character she has become over the last few years as she has grown weary of secrets and lies. She’d hoped that Thomas had grown and matured like her, especially since he is the older sibling, but it was not meant to be.
You weren’t shocked at all by Steffy’s fury. After all, Thomas went a bit too far just to get their parents together. While Steffy wanted a reunion, she wasn’t about to resort to dirty tricks to get Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) back together and can’t believe that Thomas was when she truly believed he had turned over a new leaf.
Another 23% of you actually find yourselves stunned that Steffy was so angry. She wanted the same thing Thomas wanted and at one point in her life, she would have done anything to get what she wanted. In fact, you thought Steffy would have told Thomas he was a genius using that app to get Ridge to leave Brooke and return to Taylor.
However, it is important to remember when she learned that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) switched those champagne labels to get Brooke drunk, putting a wedge between Brooke and Ridge, she got herself shot for her anger as she confronted Sheila for her dirty tricks. She wanted Ridge to return to Taylor on his own and not through lies and manipulations.
While you might not have been surprised about Steffy’s fury directed straight at Thomas, 18% are shocked that her first thought was to make sure Ridge and Taylor know what their son did so they don’t take their vows under false pretenses. Wanting everything to be honest and open and on the up and up shows a great change in Steffy, indeed.
