Lisa Yamada has nabbed the contract role of Luna on The Bold and the Beautiful, a mysterious college student who’s been studying fashion design. She’s set to get into the mix at Forrester Creations beginning September 13.

Perhaps best known for her role as musician Parker Tanaka on the Freeform series Cruel Summer, Yamada has appeared in an array of projects. Her credits include the series All American, Little Fires Everywhere, Never Have I Ever, Promised Land, and Man with a Plan. Want to learn more about the actress? 1. Yamada is a triple threat. In addition to being an actress, she’s also a dancer and a singer. Plus, she played the guitar as a kid.
2. The young actress is fluent in both Japanese and English. In fact, Japanese was actually her first language.
3. Her first professional role was in the documentary National Geographic Investigates in 2011. She was credited as the Young Sister. The project explored the topic of Yakuzas, Japanese mobs. Yamada told Wonderland Magazine that she was “proud to say that my first ever job was about my culture and had an all-Asian cast.”
4. She has several tattoos, two of which were inspired by her love for the Twilight series. “Anyone who knows me knows that loving Twilight is my defining personality trait,” she told justjaredjr.com, noting that she even “went on a trip to Oregon and Washington just to see all of the filming locations.”
5. She appeared on Celebrity Family Feud in 2023 with some of her Cruel Summer costars. It was not only a thrill for the actress, but also for her mother, who had long been a fan of the original Family Feud game show.
6. Yamada voiced the character of Hyo-Ryeong in the South Korean YA/zombie series All of Us Are Dead, which streams on Netflix. It centers on a high school that becomes ground zero for a zombie virus outbreak, which leaves the trapped students having to fight their way out or risk turning into one of the rabid infected.
7. During her career, she’s worked with an impressive list of who’s who in the celebrity world, including Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, Matt LeBlanc, Steven Spielberg, and Halle Berry.
