Young was born on September 10 in Renton, Washington. He grew up in both Washington and Oregon along with his siblings Michael, Tiffany, and Charity. Young started acting in his high school musicals and plays including Grease, Guys & Dolls, Our Town, and The Wizard of Oz.

Jacob Young was cast as Rick Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful right out of high school and got his first Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 1999. He was then as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital and won his Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2002.
Broadway Star
Along with his work on television and movies, Young has also appeared on Broadway! In fact, from May 2006 to August 2006 he starred in Beauty and the Beast in the role of Lumiere.
