It was one thing for Liam and Hope to take Steffy’s adopted daughter Phoebe from her on The Bold and the Beautiful. After all, the tot was, in reality, baby Beth, the daughter they thought was dead. But it was quite another for Liam to take Kelly, the daughter he shares with Steffy, from the only home she’s ever known.
Did Liam (Scott Clifton) do the right thing by taking Kelly from Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) home since he thought she was in danger there due to Steffy’s growing opioid addiction? Soap Hub posed this question to viewers.
Most of you, 86%, in fact, believe that yes, Liam did the right thing. What would happen if Kelly came upon Mommy’s pill bottle and decided to down a few, thinking they were candy? Her life could have been changed forever!
Steffy lives alone with her daughter and when she’s zonked out on pills, there’s no one there to supervise and care for her little one. Liam didn’t want to hurt Steffy, but he had to put the welfare of his daughter first. As much as this added to Steffy’s pain, Liam did the right thing.
For 14%, you think he messed this up. It’s great that Liam had Kelly’s best interests at heart, but what about the emotional welfare of the woman he once called his wife and claims to still love? Instead of disrupting Steffy’s life further, Liam could have called Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) immediately and told him to come over.
They could have camped out on Steffy’s sofa or in her guest room and said they were going to stay with Steffy until she got better, keeping a watchful eye on Kelly along the way. Certainly, Liam could have sprung for a live-in nurse, a nanny, and a therapist to help Steffy manage her condition.
Speaking of therapists, where’s Taylor (Hunter Tylo) in all this? As a psychiatrist, Taylor would be able to help her daughter tremendously this time. If she couldn’t treat her daughter herself, she’d certainly have professional colleagues whom she could recommend to help out. The most important thing is for Steffy to get well.
While Taylor’s not around, it’s good that Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) is. We have a feeling she’s in good hands with the good doctor. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
