On The Bold and the Beautiful, December 18, Zende surprises Steffy with a visit from Thomas, who’s not going away quietly. He wants to reclaim his place with Hope for the Future.

Key Takeaways

  • Zende reveals that he’s been talking to Thomas Forrester.
  • Thomas surprised Steffy when he returned to Forrester Creations.
  • He wants to reclaim his place as lead designer of Hope for the Future.
  • Deke is concerned about his position since it’s only temporary.

Thomas Makes His Triumphant Return

At the office, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Zende (Delon De Metz) discussed Hope for the Future. Zende said it could be renamed to “Pray for the Future” since it doesn’t have a strong designer at the helm.

Then, he revealed what he’s been doing behind Steffy’s back while he’s been gone. Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) entered the office. The cousins have been discussing his returning to Hope for the Future.

Thomas told Steffy that it was time for him to contribute again. He assured his sister that she doesn’t have to look for another designer. The work could be covered by him and Zende, who’s also contributed to the line.

Steffy shared that they had already hired someone else. She complimented Deke’s (Harrison Cone) talent, but admitted that he was still green. Thomas said they no longer needed him. He’s here now.

Deke is Concerned About His Future

Meanwhile, at the showroom, Deke (Harrison Cone) asked Hope (Annika Noelle) about her honeymoon with Liam (Scott Clifton). She wasn’t focused on romance right now. The couple has been too busy working to celebrate their wedding.

Hope complimented Deke’s ideas. But he wondered why none of his designs had gone into production. Deke was only hired on a trial basis, which makes him nervous about his future.

Hope assured her brother that he got the job on his own merit. But Deke wants to be the right designer for her line. He didn’t want special treatment.

Deke didn’t want to make it seem as if he was complaining, as if he had been given an excellent opportunity to work with Forrester Creations. He understood why Zende’s designs were chosen.

Deke then noted Zende is an excellent designer, but also that his last name was Forrester. Hope told her brother to keep working hard and submitting good designs. He was bound to get his big break.

Steffy and Hope’s Friendship At Risk

Thomas walked into the showroom with Steffy, Zende, and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye). He pointed to the neon sign and said that was where he needed to be. He wanted to make his triumphant return to Forrester Creations.

Ridge wondered how Hope would take this news. Steffy assured her father that she would handle this, as they were now on good terms. But that could end now that Thomas is back in the picture.

Hope will likely refuse to work with Thomas because of their past. She rejected his proposal and left for Paris… with Paris (Diamond White).

Later, Hope joined Steffy at the CEO’s office. Steffy wanted to discuss her line. Hope made a final plea for Deke to stay on, while Steffy announced that Thomas was back and wanted to return.

Steffy said this was the best decision. Hope asked what this meant for Deke. Steffy assured her that he had a bright future, just not here at Forrester Creations. There goes their friendship.
