Steffy and Hope have feuded on The Bold and the Beautiful for decades, and fans have taken sides. But these two ladies are more similar than they care to admit. It’s becoming more clear as Hope embraces her bad side. Here are some things they have in common.
Strong Personalities
There’s no doubt that both have strong personalities. Hope (Annika Noelle) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) may have different morals and values, but they’re fierce and strong, both inside and outside the boardroom. Like Steffy, Hope desires fame and power. She’s become more power-hungry after the Forrester Creations coup attempt. Also, both of them are fiercely protective of their respective families.
Shared Desires
Steffy and Hope share the same desires when it comes to love and family. They both want to be married with children. Steffy has won this battle. She has the man and the family. Hope hasn’t been as lucky in the love department. She was married to Liam (Scott Clifton) until she realized she didn’t want a man with a divided heart. Then, she almost ended up with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson), but something kept her from fully committing to him.
Love Triangles
The core reason for their feud is their shared interest in men. Hope and Steffy both chased after Oliver (Zack Conroy). Oliver was in love with Hope (then Kim Matula) but was physically attracted to Steffy. However, he wasn’t going to let lust ruin his relationship with Hope. Hope and Steffy also fought over Liam, which led to this long-running love triangle trope.

Past Mirroring The Present
Steffy used to be the vixen of Los Angeles. She did everything in her power to seduce men like Oliver and Bill (Don Diamont). Now, Hope is stepping into those shoes. She kissed Finn (Tanner Novlan) when she was drunk. She used her sexuality and good looks to get Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) to become the new owner of Forrester Creations. Who knows who she’ll drag into bed next? Both characters made unethical choices that hurt their families, created mistrust, and further fueled their rivalry.
Time For A Truce?
Projection is the reason behind their hatred for one another. What they project onto each other is what they hate in themselves. It’s time for these ladies to call a truce and join forces. However, it would take some self-awareness on their part to make this happen. This peace treaty could bring some much-needed peace to their families. Plus, it would be fun to see two powerful women team up and run Forrester Creations together. Hope could focus on her line while Steffy could call the shots.
