Li is a hard case to crack. She had a deep hatred for her sister, Poppy. She makes it clear in every breath that her sister is the queen of drugs and men. Li even shifted some of that hate onto her daughter, Luna, especially when she started her killing spree. But now she’s had a sudden change of heart. Li called Luna a poor, tortured soul who never had a chance because of her negligent mother. Why is Li suddenly defending Luna? This could cause more problems on The Bold and the Beautiful, especially if Luna is still alive.
Complete 180
In recent weeks, we’ve seen Li’s (Naomi Matsuda) cold demeanor turn warm and kind. She empathized with Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) pain in a conversation with Finn (Tanner Novlan). Li shocked B&B viewers when she said that Luna wasn’t born bad. She just turned out that way because of her pill-popping and bed-hopping mother. But is Poppy really to blame? Luna was the one who chose to kill these innocent people. No one else did that for her.

In the past, Li would launch a hate campaign against Poppy (Romy Park) and Luna. Now, she’s come around to her niece because she still has fond memories of her from when she was a young girl. Li is remorseful over the woman that Luna’s become. But this is a shocking change. Li’s sudden defense of Luna came out of nowhere.
Fueled By Spite?
Li was distraught over the idea of losing Luna during surgery. She did whatever she could to save her niece. However, she had to break the news that Luna had died. She was shocked by Poppy’s cold-hearted response. Poppy admitted that she was glad that her daughter was gone. She no longer had to deal with her crazy antics anymore.
Li could be acting this way to stick it to her sister. She doesn’t like anything that Poppy does. We can’t ever see them having a loving relationship because Poppy will never live up to Li’s standards. It’s a case of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Sibling Rivalry
Poppy and Luna used to have a close relationship, which irritated Li. Poppy was a free spirit who took pills to calm her nerves, but it didn’t impact her life, so Li couldn’t argue that. Li was too judgmental to have a relationship with her sister and niece, and their close relationship annoyed her. Li assumed that her sister had an affair with her husband, but she couldn’t prove that.
She warned Luna not to intern at Forrester Creations. Then, she warned Finn not to have a relationship with his daughter once Luna was pardoned for her crimes. Now, she’s trying to find another way to shun Poppy from her life. She’s using Luna as a pawn in her sanctimonious game.
