Now that Ridge Forrester has finally made a decision about which woman he wants to spend his life with on The Bold and the Beautiful, he’s left many fans scratching their heads, wondering why does Taylor Hayes want Ridge so badly when he seems to constantly choose Brooke Logan over her?
It’s a puzzlement for poor Taylor (Krista Allen). She really thought that this time, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) had gone too far when she allowed Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) to stick around on New Year’s Eve, fell off the wagon (okay, that part wasn’t her fault), and then kissed him at midnight. Finally, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) would see the light and leave Logan behind, right?
Um, no. Once again, when push came to shove, Ridge returned to Brooke, even though it was her fault that Deacon was around in the first place. Ridge had asked her repeatedly not to let Deacon even darken their doorway, but Deacon’s constant boosting of Brooke’s ego and sweet talk was something that Brooke couldn’t resist. Brooke feeling lonely on New Year’s Eve led to disaster after she got drunk and Deacon slept over.
But this isn’t the first time Ridge chose Brooke. We’re not sure why? He has been happy with each woman. Taylor certainly offers stability to Ridge, whereas Brooke often brings instability. So what is it that draws Ridge and Taylor together why does Taylor even bother with this guy?
Well, they do share two children in Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), so anytime either is in trouble (and let’s face it — that happens quite often), they can bond and be there for each other. Also, no one else knows the pain they feel over the loss of Steffy’s twin sister Phoebe Forrester, more than the other does. Grief can create an intense bond.
Fate has been cruel to Taylor. Ridge has pulled away from her through no fault of her own time and time again. But the fact that he keeps returning to Brooke when he and Taylor could get another chance at love should be enough to make her finally quit him. Certainly, if the ‘world-renowned psychiatrist’ were advising a patient in a similar situation, you can be what Taylor would tell that patient! It’s been said that doctors make the worst patients. Our advice to Taylor? “Physician, heal thyself!” Will she? Stay tuned to find out.
