The new year is coming to The Bold and the Beautiful. Yet, some of its characters continue to make the same mistakes. Some of them desperately need to make a New Year’s resolution as they look to 2026.
Key Takeaways
- The Bold and the Beautiful 2026 preview teases a new fashion house that will ignite family feuds in all sorts of directions.
- Some of its characters need to make New Year’s resolutions, especially when it comes to their love life.
- Ridge and Hope need to stop repeating the same mistakes.
- Taylor and Deacon need to stop beating around the bush and not get involved with one another.
No Hope For This One’s Future
Hope’s (Annika Noelle) love life is all over the place lately. She started 2025 with a turbulent relationship with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). The two victoriously stole Forrester Creations together, until Carter handed it back to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric (John McCook).
Then, Hope couldn’t sort out her feelings with Carter. She felt betrayed in more ways than one. At that time, Carter also locked lips with Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire), who was hired to seduce him.
Hope started spending more time with Liam (Scott Clifton), who thought he was dying of brain cancer. However, he discovered that it was a long con devised by Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech), who had desperately attempted to settle her ex-husband’s debts. Now, the two are spending time in jail together.
During that time, Hope realized that she still had lingering feelings for Liam. So, she ended her engagement to Carter, allowing them to remarry. But what she really needs is a love timeout for 2026, and her portrayer couldn’t agree more.
Taylor Loves Emotionally Unavailable Men
Meanwhile, Taylor (Rebecca Budig) spent most of 2025 being entangled with two emotionally unavailable men. She was in a relationship with Ridge, who still had his eye on Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).
He didn’t like it when Nick (Jack Wagner) came back to romance her. Ridge ended his engagement to Taylor just so he could go back to Brooke once more.
Now, Taylor has her eye on Deacon (Sean Kanan), who’s still married to Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). The two grew close during their therapy sessions, particularly when Deacon was conflicted about Sheila’s secret regarding Luna (Lisa Yamada) still being alive at the time.
Taylor needs to undergo some self-reflection and break free from emotionally unavailable men. She claims that she doesn’t need a man, but her actions speak otherwise. We would love to see Taylor love herself for a change, and not depend on a man who’s otherwise taken.
Ridge Plays Pogo
Once again, it’s another year, and Ridge continues to make the same mistakes. He bounced between Taylor and Brooke. He can’t decide which woman he loves the most.
It depends on who he’s not bored or frustrated with, at this present time. He started 2025 in a relationship with Taylor because he blamed Brooke for Hope and Carter’s takeover of FC.
Then, he spent time with Brooke in Italy, which changed the game. When he saw that she nearly died from drowning, he realized he couldn’t live without her. However, with a fashion feud at play, Brooke could steal Katie’s (Heather Tom) man, which could cause Ridge to reel and cause him to return to Taylor.
What he really needs is to lie low and focus on what he does best, which is designing and being a father and grandfather. B&B viewers loved seeing Ridge spend time with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) kids at Thanksgiving. We’d love to see more of this side to him.
Deacon Plays Two Women
Deacon claims he’s a changed man, but is he, really? In 2025, he was happily married to Sheila, but that may no longer be the case. He’s not sure if he can trust her again.
Meanwhile, he’s pining after Taylor and using her to distance himself from his wife. If he’s really changed for the better, he should be honest with himself and those around him.
What Deacon needs to do is tell Sheila that he can’t be with her anymore because he still can’t trust her. Sure, that might cause her to explode and go to the dark side, but it’s better to be honest than to make her feel as if they still have a future together.
However, rather than moving forward with Taylor, Deacon should focus on himself and grow outside of Taylor’s guidance. He should probably book another therapist in 2026.
