The Bold and the Beautiful’s Taylor Hayes has seemed off during her last few appearances on the soap over the past several years, and it’s not because during this latest stint she is played by Krista Allen and not Hunter Tylo, as she had been for three decades. This seemingly-intelligent psychiatrist has lost her touch completely when it comes to judging people and it makes no sense.
Ok, we know why. Taylor heard it through the grapevine that Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) had taken advantage of her precious daughter, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). So, yes, the best solution to that would be to sneak into his house late at night and put a bullet in him, letting others take the fall, including Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), Ridge being the man she claims is the love of her life.
Bill hadn’t even taken advantage of Steffy. She slept with him willingly, despite realizing what a mistake it was. As this is a soap opera, Taylor got away with the whole thing and was able to just flit out of town again to take care of her humanitarian causes, but the next time Taylor returned, she seemed even more daff.
When Taylor flitted back into town, she was so happy to spend some time with Dr. Reese Buckingham (Wayne Brady) and loved the attention and praise he heaped on her. That must be why she felt paying him a “fee” so he could hand her a baby out of nowhere was completely normal. Now, Steffy could have a baby to adopt and name Phoebe, after Steffy’s own late twin sister. It was Steffy’s dream to raise two baby girls as sisters and Taylor had to make her little girl’s dreams come true.
Too bad she had already pulled her disappearing act by the time Steffy learned that her Phoebe was really Beth Spencer, the little girl that Liam and Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) thought had died at birth. Ridge had to be the one to comfort a wailing and hysterical Steffy as the baby was taken from her arms and given back to her rightful parents.
Hey, remember Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), the completely off-her-rocker and notorious B&B villainess who shot Taylor, causing her family to believe she was dead for years? Who can forget her? She is everywhere these days and that is partly because of Taylor. Steffy Forrester Finnegan was very adamant she did not want her new husband’s biological mother anywhere near her family, but Taylor convinced her to give Sheila a chance on Christmas Eve because people can change.
After Steffy and Finn were shot, with Steffy lying unconscious and Finn dead, nobody suspected Sheila might be the culprit, especially not Taylor. No, Taylor didn’t even think the extreme reaction of wanting to jump off the hospital roof was weird, so she saved Sheila and almost lost her own life in the process. But, Sheila then saved her so they’re bonded for life. A new BFF! Hooray! Perhaps Dr. James Warwick needs a call to return to The Bold and the Beautiful and take care of both women.
