Li’s reaction to Luna’s getting shot was interesting. She was gungho about saving Luna’s life. This comes from a stoic woman who believes that her sister should suffer for the pain and hurt she’s caused her family. What’s also interesting is that Li is dodging the cold, hard truth: Luna is her granddaughter. We are still thinking about Li’s reaction on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Saving Lives

Li (Naomi Matsuda) did what she had to do. She tried to save Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) life. Luna got shot by Liam (Scott Clifton), who risked his life while trying to save Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) life. Li’s reaction was surprising considering she doesn’t like Luna. She hates her mother even more, but she still doesn’t condone Luna’s action.

Yet, she’s been softening up to her lately. (Will Li and Finn welcome Luna back into their family?) Li didn’t want to see Luna die like this, on the operating table. She believed that she had another chance at living. But what does this mean if Luna were to survive? Would she get help instead of going to jail? What’s Li’s intention for this?

Avoiding The Truth

There’s some part of her who doesn’t believe that Luna deserves to die. That’s because Li didn’t always see her as a cold-blooded killer. Li saw Luna as a bright and happy girl before she went to the dark side. Li is trying to hold onto those feelings in an effort to save Luna’s life.

But she’s also avoiding the truth. Luna is Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) daughter, which means she’s Li’s granddaughter. Li hasn’t referred to Luna as her granddaughter. She keeps calling Luna her niece. Does this mean that she’s still in denial? Or does she refuse to accept the truth?

Li is struggling with the facts. Her sister had an affair with her son, and Luna is no longer her niece. Yet she thinks Luna deserves a second chance at life. This is the same person who will haunt her sister for the rest of her life. Li is showing more compassion for a killer than she is for her own sibling.

What are your thoughts on Li’s reaction to Luna’s shooting? Do you think it’s fair that she still has hatred in her heart for her sister, and not for Luna? Sound off below in the comments section. We want to know what you think about this wild storyline.
