The potential loss of Eric Forrester rocked every character on The Bold and the Beautiful, but perhaps no one more than his devoted partner Donna. Now that her honey bear is home and recuperating, fans feel it’s time for these lovebirds to make it official and tie the knot — once again. Should self-sacrificing Donna assert herself and let Eric know there is no better time than the present to make her Mrs. Forrester?
Donna Logan Supported Eric
Donna (Jennifer Gareis) has been the proverbial rock for Eric (John McCook) throughout his health crisis. (The actors reflect on Eric’s “death” storyline here.) Never did we hear Donna utter a moment of concern for herself when faced with the loss or physical decline of her much older love. A younger woman might typically fear her future without her partner or worry about a diminished quality of life should he remain incapacitated in some way.
Even when Eric spoke of going into the light and his wonderful reunion with former wife Stephanie (Susan Flannery), Donna didn’t bat an eyelash. She sat next to him and remained understanding and supportive, not showing the least bit of jealousy or discomfort. At this point, Donna started to seem like a saint.
Marry Me, Donna
Though many would characterize the middle Logan sister as the most beautiful, Donna doesn’t seek the limelight. She certainly has some middle-child vibes when it comes to getting attention. It was very telling that once she moved in to the Forrester home, she didn’t put a photo of her and Eric together over the mantle to replace the photo of Quinn (Rena Sofer). She put a distinguished shot of Eric by himself. Somehow, Donna always lets Eric know that he is the head of the household and that she doesn’t need much.
Donna can be selfless to a fault. Is this genuine? Does Donna really need nothing more than to be the adored accompaniment of head honcho Eric? It might be nice to see her get in touch with her own needs. Everyone knows she is crazy about Eric and would love nothing more than to be his bride for a second time.
Wouldn’t it be fun to see a newly empowered Donna ask Eric to be her husband? Or at least suggest to him in her kittenish way that it’s time to put a ring on her finger? We know that a Donna and Eric wedding would be a joyous event for most viewers, and it would give Donna the recognition and status that she deserves.
