Hope Logan has more than a new hairdo. The Bold and the Beautiful heroine, played by Daytime Emmy nominee Annika Noelle, has a new attitude. We don’t understand all the reasons for Hope’s choices but watching Noelle play this new chapter in her character’s life has been both refreshing and intriguing and that’s why she’s been chosen as Soap Hub’s powerhouse performer for November.
Once you can put aside that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) lied to Hope and didn’t tell her that her baby, Beth, was alive, you can go on the ride on which Noelle is taking Hope fans. Despite being Mrs. Liam Spencer, Hope couldn’t help but feel that her husband still carried a torch for his ex-wife Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). After all, Liam (Scott Clifton) did tie one on one night when he thought Hope had been unfaithful to him (she hadn’t been) and jumped into bed with Steffy who had yet to make a commitment to Finn (Tanner Novlan) at the time.
Now, it’s Hope’s turn to explore life, go for what she wants, and see if she can find any happiness. The best part of Hope and Thomas’s on-again relationship is that it sets up confrontations between Hope and Steffy. Thomas’s sister accused Hope of using her brother, but the blonde beauty wasn’t having it.
“We’re having fun,” Hope asserted to Steffy about her relationship with her brother. “I’m not toying with your brother…we are on the same page. So much so that I feel like Thomas can read my mind.”
Steffy and Hope’s battles aren’t anything new, but this time, Noelle is playing Hope more assertively. After Steffy suggested that Thomas was “caught up in” Hope, the Hope For The Future founder replied, “The same way my husband was caught up in you?
“Oh, I hate to break it to you Steffy, but you are not the center of the universe,” Hope continued. “This is not about you. Thomas and I share something special…we light a fire in each other.” Hope then dismissed Steffy, telling her that her narrative was not the same as the one that Hope has.
“I’m no longer that victim hanging in the gondola watching you steal my life away from me,” Hope told Steffy, reminding her rather bluntly of that stunt she pulled. “I’m in control of my life now and figuring out who I am and your brother is helping me. And I like it. I actually like it a lot.”
We do, too. In fact, we love it. Kudos to Annika Noelle for taking her character to new levels. Hope may or may not live to regret giving Thomas a second (third?) chance. However, we have no doubt, she’ll own those choices just as she’s taking responsibility for the decisions she’s making right now. Steffy accused her of becoming just like her mother, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Hope countered that that used to terrify her. Now? Not so much. And, Noelle will continue taking her daytime character to new heights!
