Deacon’s not doing a good job of proving to Taylor that he’s a better man than Ridge.

This week’s messiest move goes to Deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful. He wants to have two women fighting over him, just like Ridge Forrester has had for nearly 40 years.

Key Takeaways

  • Taylor rejected Deacon’s advances.
  • Deacon asked Sheila if they could work on their marriage.
  • He wants Taylor to help him become a better man.
  • Deacon also believes he could help Taylor become a better person.

Deacon Sharpe Isn’t So Sharp

Deacon (Sean Kanan—who stood up for his B&B co-star) wanted to move on from Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) with Taylor (Rebecca Budig), but she refused. She didn’t want to complicate matters in their professional relationship.

Also, she didn’t want to jump into another relationship so soon after Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) dumped her for Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). He didn’t even have time to think it through. He married Brooke within 24 hours.

Taylor wants to take her time. She wants to focus on the things that bring her happiness, like work and family. Why complicate that with an attractive man who hangs on her every word?

That’s not stopping Deacon, though. He agreed to work on his marriage to Sheila, but still wants Taylor’s help with his personal life. He’s come up with other excuses, claiming the therapy sessions will change his life and help him become a better man.

Why This Is Messy

Deacon is playing with the devil. And by the devil, we mean Sheila Carter. He knows what she could do if she found out that he was having an affair with Taylor, whether emotional or physical.

Even Li (Naomi Matsuda) knows better than to poke the bear. She was concerned when her former archnemesis admitted that she would kill Taylor if she caught her with Deacon.

But now she’s had a change of heart. Sheila is elated that Taylor encouraged Deacon to work on their marriage. Now, she feels like she owes Taylor, although she hasn’t revealed how.

Meanwhile, Deacon slandered Ridge to Taylor’s face, and rightfully so. But what he doesn’t realize is that he’s taking a page out of Ridge’s playbook. Deacon wants to have his cake and eat it, too.

He’s remaining married to Sheila to save face. And just in case he doesn’t end up alone, if nothing with Taylor works out. Yet, he’s inviting Taylor to have an emotional affair with him.

Has Sheila Changed?

Deacon believes that Sheila has undergone a positive transformation. He doesn’t think she’ll go back to her murderous, vindictive ways. What Sheila told Li shouldn’t be taken lightly. She has tried killing Taylor before, and she would do it again, especially if she steals her man.

Deacon has no idea the monster he created. Sheila thinks she’s the only woman for him. Instead of tackling this issue with Deacon, she could end up harming Taylor. In the end, Deacon’s to blame.
