Hope confessed to Brooke that she’s torn between two men on The Bold and the Beautiful. She still has feelings for Liam, while Carter has pushed them to get married as soon as possible. So, is she being hypocritical or honest with herself?
Why She’s Being Hypocritical
Hope (Annika Noelle) recalled both the good and the bad times she shared with Liam (Scott Clifton) during their marriage. But she had forgotten the reason why she had left him in the first place.
She woke up and realized she didn’t want a man with a conflicted heart. For years, Liam caused Hope nothing but pain when he would leave her for Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
In a conversation with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Hope confessed that she can’t fully commit to Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) or Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). She can’t help but think of Carter’s betrayal during their coup attempt. Also, he was stuck on Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) and her alluring perfume.
Meanwhile, Hope couldn’t move forward with Thomas because of his involvement in the Beth baby situation. She still blames him for what happened.
She played with both of their hearts. And now, she’s just as confused and conflicted as Liam was when he was with her. This makes her look hypocritical, especially with the proclamation she made during their divorce.
Why She’s Being Honest
On the other hand, Hope might’ve had another realization. Hope and Liam have been each other’s true loves for decades. They made several mistakes, most of which happened while they were younger. But they always found their way back to each other.
Maybe Hope isn’t afraid of commitment, as it looks like. Maybe she’s afraid of change. She wants to return to the way things were with Liam because she’s become accustomed to their cottage life.
