Quinn Fuller Forrester and Carter Walton fans savored a romantic dinner scene between The Bold and the Beautiful couple on Monday, August 29. Sadly, it’s the last one they’ll get between actors Rena Sofer and Lawrence Saint-Victor since it was Sofer’s final episode.
It leaves the future of the blissfully happy “Quarter” in serious question and, more importantly, the soap with a major decision to make: How do they solve their Quinn dilemma? Here’s a way – or three – that B&B might opt to go.
Filling the hole left by the sublime Sofer won’t be easy. So perhaps, the show won’t and shouldn’t even try. B&B could opt to script a dramatic off-screen ending for the character. She could leave town on a business trip and vanish. Or become the victim of a plane or car crash…or murder.
Yes, it would be tragic, but it would wrap things up and allow Carter the opportunity to move on. That is, after a respectable waiting period and his heart heals.
The show could also keep its options open by taking the focus completely off Quinn and only using Carter in business scenes while it decides how to proceed. It’s not unusual for a B&B character to go MIA for weeks – or even months.
Think about the lapses in Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), Katie Logan (Heather Tom), and Shauna Fulton’s (Denise Richards) appearances, not to mention the fact that Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) has practically vanished since she became engaged to Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks).
Sofer’s a super talent who made Quinn one of the most compelling daytime characters ever. Finding an actress to fill her shoes will be a formidable task, as she’ll have to have chemistry with Saint-Victor and John McCook, who plays Quinn’s estranged husband, Eric; not to mention share a strong mother-son bond with Brooks.
Yet, there are a number of daytime vets who could try their hand at it. A few who come to mind are Kristian Alfonso (ex-Hope, Days of our Lives), Gina Tognoni (ex-Phyllis, The Young and the Restless), Jamie Luner (ex-Liza, All My Children), Inga Cadranel (ex-Harmony, GH) and Julie Pinson (ex-Billie, Days of our Lives).
