Bill Spencer has a spring in his step and a gleam in his eye again on The Bold and the Beautiful. That’s all thanks to his reunion with the enigmatic Poppy. After all, Bill is like a dog without a bone without a lovely lady to pursue. What sets Poppy apart from the previous women in Dollar Bill’s life? Can she keep him happy in the long run?
Bill Spencer Plucks Poppy
As Bill (Don Diamont) took Poppy (Romy Park) out on date number two (find out more about that here) at Il Giardino, their dynamic started to become clear. Dollar Bill laid on the charm and compliments, and Poppy coquettishly soaked it all in. Undeterred by the watchful eyes of Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and Deacon (Sean Kanan), Bill and Poppy got cozier and held hands.
Then, things turned spicy. Bill asked for a dance reminiscent of how he first saw her at the music festival two decades ago. Poppy refused at first, but within moments she was on her feet giving Bill exactly what he wanted. It was a sultry dance just for him, but with all the restaurant’s patrons watching and clapping at the end. No disrespect to Poppy, but this dance was a bit more lounge act or lap dance style than what we would think of as a free-spirited concert sway.
For Bill, this seemed to exalt Poppy into the stratosphere of the woman of his dreams. It would be hard to imagine any of his other paramours, be it Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) or Katie (Heather Tom), getting up in the middle of a crowded restaurant and putting on a show at his playful request. Poppy’s sister Li (Naomi Matsuda), who was a potential love interest for Bill, sure as hell wouldn’t do that. The fact that Poppy does what Bill asks could make this a relationship with staying power.
Poppy’s Pill-Popping
If Bill is not what he seems to be (as Sheila pointed out), Poppy may be his match in that department, too. Bill called Poppy’s dance “effortless,” but she did pop into her pill box minutes earlier. Those pills could turn out to be not all natural and a problem. As for Poppy’s character, that remains to be seen. Li has slammed her with the stereotype of a gold-digger. Poppy innocently maintains that her past boyfriends just happened to have money.
Despite Li’s animosity towards her, Poppy was protective of her sister when she learned Sheila tried to kill her. And she does seem to be a caring mom to Luna (Lisa Yamada). If Poppy turns out to be not as nice when it comes to men, some would say Bill has it coming. Do you think Poppy is not what she seems? What do you think of this new couple?
