Melissa Dylan (aka Dylan) assumed that she would spend the rest of her life washing dishes at Il Giardino. But The Bold and the Beautiful dropped a game-changer. She’s now working at Forrester Creations, where she uncovered Ivy’s secret. Is she B&B’s newest victim, or will she enter her villain era? Dylan could likely become the soap’s next power player.

Key Takeaways

  • Both Ivy and Electra used Dylan’s homeless past as a weapon.
  • Now that Dylan knows who really broke up Will and Electra, the bullying could end.
  • She could use this to her advantage, or let Ivy and Electra get under her skin at Forrester Creations.

How Dylan Became B&B’s Unsung Hero

Melissa Dylan (Sydney Bullock) is the relatable character that viewers need. Unlike her peers, she had a tough upbringing. She was raised by a single mom who tried her best to give them a good life. Then, she ventured out to Los Angeles to get her dream life.

Unfortunately, it came crashing down. Dylan lost her job and then found herself at the center of a crime when she accidentally ran down Luna (Lisa Yamada) as she fled from the police. Soon thereafter, Dylan was homeless and living out of her car.

She resorted to dumpster diving just to secure her next meal. But then, Dylan’s luck changed when she talked to Electra (Laneya Grace) again. She was the one who suggested that Dylan should stay at Will’s (Crew Morrow) guest house until she could get back on her feet.

That situation crashed and burned when Ivy spied on them while Electra was out of town. She claimed the events that occurred were inappropriate. What ruffled her feathers was seeing Dylan perform ballet for Will and then go swimming in her bikini.

Could Dylan Flip the Script?

Currently, Dylan is playing the role of the “damsel in distress.” She believes that Will is her “Prince Charming,” who saved her life from poverty. She previously expressed her gratitude to him for keeping her off the streets.

Now, she thinks she’s falling for him because of the simple act of kindness he’s displayed. This kind of thinking leans into the manipulator theory. B&B fans previously sounded the alarm over Dylan’s hidden motive. They fear that Will could be getting played.

There’s also the possibility that Dylan could become the soap’s next young villain. Beneath the sweet smiles and accidental encounters, she could be masterfully playing the victim to dismantle a relationship and secure her seat at the Forrester table.

But first, she would have to take down Ivy to make it happen. Now that she knows Ivy’s secret, she could expose her to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), who’s her biggest ally. Or she could keep it to herself so she gets Will and everything she wants.

Alternatively, Dylan could also feed into that victim role. She might hold onto this secret as she lets Electra and Ivy tell her she’s “not good enough” for their world.
