Does Poppy Nozawa Make Bad Decisions on B&B?

New to The Bold and The Beautiful canvas, Luna’s mother Poppy Nozawa arrived with a cheerful personality as bright as her name suggests. Luna and her new love RJ certainly hold her in high regard. However, Poppy’s sister Li shares a different view of her sibling. Maybe Li wasn’t being too harsh when calling her reckless. As we get to know more about Poppy’s backstory, it appears she doesn’t always make wise choices.

Free-Spirited Poppy Nozawa

Dr. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) went into a panic when her sister Poppy (Romy Park) showed up in town. She felt that her wild younger sister almost destroyed her career by having an affair with a married doctor at the hospital where they worked. Poppy said she didn’t know that her doctor paramour was married. OK, innocent mistake. That could happen to anybody, right?

This week, we saw Poppy go on a date with “Dollar” Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). (Remember that here.) He revealed that he remembers one glorious night with her at the Golden Gate Music Festival about 20 years ago. Twenty years also happens to be the age of Poppy’s daughter, Luna. And Poppy has never told Luna who her father actually is.

Avoiding “Dollar” Bill

Poppy certainly isn’t in a solo club of making the bad choice of having relations with Bill. The majority of the women on B&B have had the same lapse in judgement and have fallen into Bill’s arms.

But — and this is a big but — it goes beyond “free spirited” to have unprotected sex at a music festival with someone you just met. And if we are to follow this thread to its logical conclusion: if Poppy gave birth to Bill’s child from this one impulsive night and never contacted him, what a huge secret to keep. She robbed Bill of the opportunity to know his daughter. She took away Luna’s chance to know her father. None of this seems amiably free-spirited.

What Luna will think of her mother if Bill does turn out to be her father remains to be seen. Her glowing picture of her mom raising her solo may quickly tarnish.
