Bold and the Beautiful In Romance Chaos, Can Things Get Back on Track?

Things are upside-down in the world of the Forresters, Logans, and company. Steffy and Finn are apart. Hope and Liam have split, and saintly Hope is having a torrid affair with Thomas. Meanwhile, Deacon and Sheila are engaged and planning their happily ever after. The Bold and the Beautiful is in romance chaos, but can things get back on track?

Bold and the Beautiful: Broken Dreams

Separating the soap’s two most prominent young couples – first, Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton) and then Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) – was a risky move. Both duos’ love stories and romantic woes have been front and center for years. They’re the pairs that fans consistently root for, so B&B just seems off with both of them apart.

Hopefully, Steffy and Finn can find a way to reconcile first, but that will mean Finn taking a firm stand and getting his volatile birth mother, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), out of his life. It’s a move he has to make to save his marriage and keep his children safe. Once that relationship gets settled, it will pave the way for Hope and Liam to come to their senses and reconcile. They belong together. And Hope truly does deserve better than the twisted Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). His sins against her and her family simply can’t be swept under the carpet and forgotten, nor should they.

B&B: Crazy for You

As for surprise couple Sheila and Deacon (Sean Kanan), their chemistry is undeniable. So it’s understandable that B&B’s scribes keep writing for them and trying to keep them together. But Shelia’s crazy streak is bound to rear its ugly head eventually. She’s incapable of walking the straight and narrow, which means her life with Deacon is destined to implode. It’s just a matter of when the big kaboom will happen.

Bold and the Beautiful: Other Lovers

There is some romantic stability on B&B with the show’s vet set. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) have reconciled, and Donna (Jennifer Garies) and Eric (John McCook) are rock solid. And, although rarely seen, Katie (Heather Tom) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) are presumably happily together.

But the soap needs to get their key couples back on track. Namely, Steffy and Finn, and Hope and Liam. Plus, characters like the long-neglected Bill (Don Diamont), Taylor (Krista Allen), and even Li (Naomi Matsuda) deserve to make new romantic connections, too.
