When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
What, exactly, does fully recommitting yourself to someone, especially to someone you are legally married to, look like? I thought that when Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) moved back home and started kissing all up on Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) that they were recommitted.
But now, The Bold and the Beautiful is trying to convince me that that was but one step Ridge made on the road to total recommittal. Hmmm….yea, I’m not buying it.
Just like I’m not buying that Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) didn’t know exactly what she was doing when she took, and posted, that oh-so-adorable family photo. As Soap Hub’s Amber Sinclair asked, “Did Hope get that attention she ordered?”
I also can’t help but wonder if The Bold and the Beautiful’s Bradley Bell actually comprehends what he’s putting out on the airwaves. Does he really think that his audience enjoys the continued beating of the dead horse that is the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor love triangle?
Does he really think that his audience is going to invest in a coupling that could be so easily destroyed by something as paltry as a family picture? They barely got over Ridge dumping Brooke – ON THEIR HONEYMOON – because she answered a text message from Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan).
And does he think that the audience actually wants to see pathetic Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) win Ridge by default? I know I don’t want to see that. And judging by the comments I see in these columns, no one here on Soap Hub wants to see that.
What they, and I, would really love to see is Brooke and Taylor to stop scrapping with each other and stop scraping the bottom of the barrel that is Ridge. They both deserve better.
* The Bold and the Beautiful so desperately needs B and C storylines. Now that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) have reunited, the sole focus of this soap will now be Ridge and Taylor’s smooch. The two of them will talk about it; Taylor and her offspring will talk about it; Steffy and Finn will talk about nothing else. I’m betting word will eventually reach Hope who will talk about it ad nauseum with Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). And yes Hope. Before you start asking, you should tell your mother about it.
Well, maybe my saying all that is a little harsh. Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is indeed still a threat. So, half the week will be kiss talk and the other will be complaints about Sheila, and maybe two days a week Sheila will pop up to make her favorite claims: “I didn’t mean to shoot my son. It was an accident! It’s all Steffy’s fault. I just wanted to be in my son and grandson’s lives. Et al.”
