When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
The Bold and the Beautiful: The Critic’s POV
This…this was a big ole “nothing burger” of a week. The one singular highlight was Hope (Annika Noelle) projecting something fierce on her momma and just reading Brooke (Katherine Kelly) for filth, but even that was over and done within a matter of minutes.
What followed was the same circular conversations. We get it: Liam (Scott Clifton) will never, ever trust Thomas (Matthew Atkinson); Thomas and his kin truly believe that he’s changed for the better; Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) really, really doesn’t think that Liam has anything to worry about where his marriage is concerned; and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) thinks that Brooke hung the moon and the stars.
Further B&B Musings
* Here’s hoping that someone, anyone will endeavor to teach Brooke that actions speak louder than words — if you don’t want to give Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) the wrong idea, don’t stand around giving him the wrong idea — and that honesty is the best policy, as she’s already lied to Taylor (Krista Allen) by omission.
Also, I see a lot of debating going on in the soap sphere as to whether or not Taylor is encouraging Hollis’s pursuit of Brooke so that her rival will be otherwise occupied and clear the field for her to nab Ridge. For now, I’m reserving judgment. But rest assured that my peepers will be following this possible plot point.
* Unlike the vast majority of other soap operas, on The Bold and the Beautiful characters can never make conversation for conversation’s sake. There’s always a hidden meaning, a hint being dropped, a storyline telegraphed from one hundred paces.
Therefore, in light of Steffy and Hope’s latest talk — the one in which the former expressed her joy that the two of them had found their “forevers” — I fully expect that in no time flat we’ll be in for some variation of a Hope/Liam/Steffy/Thomas quad with poor, pitiful Finn (Tanner Novlan) banished to the far reaches of the globe.
