Soap Opera Comings and Goings: Veterans Return And Newbies Appear

Who’s coming and who’s going from the casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Soap Opera Casting For The Week Of May 2, 2022

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.

General Hospital

Nancy Lee Grahn, who recently underwent back surgery, has returned to the General Hospital set and begun taping scenes as Alexis Davis. Her first day on the job was April 27, so she won’t start airing for a few weeks.

Jackie Zeman will soon be back on the soap opera as Bobbie Spencer, too. She posted the news on social media, noting that viewers can expect to see her character this month.

Evan Hofer debuts as Dex. His character will approach Sonny (Maurice Benard) for a job. Hofer is best known for his role as Chlodwig on the BYUtv series, Dwight in Shining Armor.

Michael E. Knight pops back in as attorney Martin Grey. Also, Chris Van Etten makes another appearance as Chet Driscoll.

Brian Norris is been playing Felty. The character is the photographer who has been harassing Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson).

Days of our Lives

Kevin Spirtas is exiting Days of our Lives as Craig Wesley. The doctor decides to leave town, after his wedding debacle and the end of his relationship with Leo (Greg Rikaart). Word is he will be returning to Salem at a later date.

Melissa Reeves and Matthew Ashford are back for more airtime on the soap opera as Jack and Jennifer Deveraux. The pair will be prominently featured in scenes regarding the fallout surrounding Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien)

Last, but not least, Donielle Artese makes another appearance as Beth, T.R Coates’s (William Christian) ex- girlfriend. She’ll share scenes with Christian and Lucas Adams’ (Tripp).

The Young and the Restless

In a surprise move, The Young and the Restless killed off Jordi Vilasuso’s good guy cop, Rey Rosales, ending the actor’s four-year run on the soap. He debuted in the role back in 2018.

The Bold and the Beautiful

On The Bold and the Beautiful front, it’s officially kids’ week on the soap opera. Sophia Paras McKinlay is back as Kelly, Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) daughter, appearing on Monday, May 2, and Tuesday, May 3. Also, Piper Harriot airs as Hayes Finnegan, Steffy, and the late Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) baby boy, on Monday, May 2.

B&B is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
