Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.
The show released some major news during its primetime special, General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling. Steve Burton is headed back to the soap as Jason Morgan. Burton’s character was “killed off” in 2021, although his body was never recovered. After leaving, Burton returned to Days of our Lives as Harris Michaels, a role he first began playing in 1988. He’s since wrapped up filming on the Peacock soap. His first airdate on GH has yet to be announced.
Bobbie’s (Jacklyn Zeman) funeral brought back a familiar face from the past. Brighton Hertford, who once played Bobbie’s adopted daughter, BJ Jones, turned up as Angela Brighton for two episodes. The character appeared to be an AP reporter from Amsterdam, who was writing a story about Bobbie. However, she was later revealed to be BJ as an angel.
Ellie Darcey-Alden portrayed Cornelia. Felicia (Kristina Wagner) and Carly (Laura Wright) tracked the young woman down in Canada, after learning that Bobbie had helped her escape human trafficking.
Meanwhile, Ryan Carnes wrapped up his visit as Lucas Jones. The character left Port Charles after Bobbie’s memorial.
Fan favorite Bryan Dattilo is back at Days of our Lives for a front-burner story arc. His character, Lucas Horton, will play a key role in the plot to take down the drug ring that’s infiltrated Salem. Lucas has been on air sporadically since he was sent to Statesville prison in 2022.
Arsenio Castellanos turned up Roy Hulsenkamp, the thug busted for trying to sell drugs to an undercover cop. He initially shared scenes with Elia Cantu’s Jada and Steve Burton’s Harris.
Darin Brooks is finally resurfacing as Wyatt Spencer. He’s set to air on Wednesday, January 17. Last October Brooks took to social media to announce that he was on a break from The Bold and the Beautiful after viewers noticed he was no longer featured in the show’s opening credits.
Naomi Matsuda and Romy Park clock back in as Dr. Li Finnegan and Poppy Nozawa, respectively. The constantly at odds sisters will have another spat on Wednesday, January 17. Park also airs on Thursday, January 18, and Friday, January 19 in scenes with Don Diamont’s Bill.
Cait Fairbanks continues to get more airtime as Tessa Porter. She turns up again on Monday, January 15 in scenes with Camryn Grimes’s Mariah and others at the party celebrating the opening of Sharon’s (Sharon Case) new company.
