Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB), Days of our Lives (DAYS), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.
Finola Hughes is “absolutely not on a scheduled break” from the soap opera. The General Hospital actress, who plays Anna Devane and whose character has been on the run since being falsely accused of Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) murder, set the record straight on Twitter in response to a user who reported that she was. Although Hughes took a yearly vacation pre-pandemic, that is no longer the case. “Just to be clear, since COVID 2020, I have had no scheduled breaks as it is imperative to be available in case there are changes at work,” explained Hughes. “I had one week off this September.” Hence, the storyline will play out uninterrupted.
Emma Samms completed her stint as Holly Sutton. Although the character was made to look as if she died in a fiery explosion, it was an undercover scheme to get her away from Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Holly left town to search for her abducted son, Ethan, but could resurface in Port Charles in the future.
Stacy Haiduk will be doing double duty, again. The actress, who currently portrays Kristen DiMera, will be popping in as Sister Mary Moira, the late Susan’s sibling. The pair are actually triplets along with brother Thomas Banks. She’ll share poignant scenes with Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ DiMera on Thursday, December 8.
Suave LA detective Alex Sanchez will be back on the scene as The Bold and the Beautiful. Jeremy Ray Valdez is reprising his role as the crafty cop beginning Monday, December 5. Valdez made his last appearance on the soap opera in August.
James Hyde is back at The Young and the Restless as ex-con Jeremy Stark. The character is invited into the Abbott home on Monday, December 5, and has key scenes with Peter Bergman’s Jack on Friday, December 9.
Zuleyka Silver pops back in the soap opera as Audra on Wednesday, December 7. She’ll share scenes with Rory Gibson’s Noah Newman.
B&B is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
