The Bold and the Beautiful

Are You Team Quinn or Team Steffy?

“The rich are different from you and me,” writer F. Scott Fitzgerald supposedly said —  they’re The Bold and the Beautiful (he most definitely did not say), and they have problems different from the rest of us.

For instance, right now, those problems include wondering whether a Fortune 500 company CEO should be photographed in her underwear, and if the stepson who claims to hate you is also trying to seduce you. You know, the usual…. But that’s what makes soap-operas so much fun to watch, and incites such passionate opinions in fans. Almost 4,000 of you voted on whether you were Team Steffy or Team Quinn — and here’s why…

To the Manor Born
Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is a legacy character. We saw her born onscreen (in 1999, but who’s counting). We know she was named after her formidable grandmother, the late Stephanie. We watched while toddler Steffy was presumed washed overboard. (Though, as The Princess Bride grandfather might say, “She does not get eaten by the eels at this time.”) She was, instead, kidnapped by a woman obsessed with having Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) child.

Steffy was later returned, only for her parents to lose Steffy’s twin, Phoebe, in a car accident. And then, of course, there was all of Steffy’s romantic waffling. But, no matter what, 43% of fans are Team Steffy 4Evah. They want what she wants. And if that’s Liam (Scott Clifton), then Quinn is just going to have to suck it up.

Fresh Blood
Move aside, Princess. There’s a real queen in town. For 29% of viewers, the new Forrester matriarch is Quinn (Rena Sofer). Little Steffy is just a pretender to the throne. And if Quinn wants her son, Wyatt (Darin Brooks), to rule the empire with Steffy by his side, then Steffy had best just get with the program, hadn’t she? Oh, and Forrester Creations, and Eric (John McCook)? Quinn will be taking those, too. She deserves ’em.

I Choose Me
And yet, an almost equal number, 28%, don’t care for either diva. So if Quinn or Steffy are hoping for their support, they’d best start looking elsewhere.
