Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) are getting to re-live the Spectra dynasty all over again in light of the new generation of Spectras that are inhabiting the canvas.
B&B has replicated many of the classic dynamics of the scrappy design team — from Sally (Courtney Hope) wanting to make her company a true contender to Darlita going ga-ga over Thomas (the same way Darla used to oogle Ridge when he came to visit Spectra Fashions).
Another through-line is Saul’s deep fondness for his boss, Sally. Just as the original Saul Feinberg (Michael Fox) loved the first Sally (Darlene Conley) so does Saul’s grandson, Saul Jr. have true feelings for Sally’s grandniece/namesake Sally.
While the original Sally and Saul remained platonic pals throughout their lives, Saul Jr.(Alex Wyse) would prefer that his story have a different ending and that Sally will return his feelings of fondness.
Numbers Don’t Lie
Soap Hub asked fans if they think Sally will eventually give Saul a chance in the romance department, and, it looks like history will repeat itself (sorry, Saul!). A whopping 93% don’t think it’s going to happen.
But there’s still hope for Saul. A small, but supportive group of viewers (7%) think that Sally will eventually give Saul a chance.
We can see why Saul’s chances aren’t looking that good. When he went in for a smooch with Sally, she didn’t respond either passionately or positively.
The Future Is Uncertain
Still, this is a triangle B&B could mine — the writers gave Saul some good zingers about how Thomas (Pierson Fodé) should be playing basketball in Europe (far, far away from Los Angeles)!
Saul also came off endearing when he offered Sally not only his designs but his (comparatively) modest savings.
The first Saul wasn’t known for his designs or his success in winning Sally’s heart, but that’s not to say Saul is destined to share the same fate as his grandfather, either in the ways of designs or matters of the heart.
Our advice to Saul is that he keep trying — while Sally and Thomas are ultimately the endgame, viewers want to see some hard-earned battles fought along the way.
And, who knows? Saul’s endearing appeal just might end up giving Thomas a run for his designs!
