Bridget Forrester didn’t have much to laugh about on The Bold and the Beautiful during Jennifer Finnigan’s tenure on the show. However, the actress was great pals with the late comic who recently died and she took to social media to share her memories of him.
“The world lost a great comic yesterday,” Finnigan (ex-Bridget) shared on Instagram. “Jonny [Jonathan Silverman, Finnigan’s husband] and I lost a best friend, and brother. I’ve stayed off [social media], not able to read the news stories and his pictures popping up on my feed. The loss is too enormous, it doesn’t seem real. We’re not ready to say goodbye. Not yet….
“When Jonny first introduced me to Bob, 18 years ago, he said ‘you have to meet my brother Bobby,'” Finnigan recalled. “And that’s what they were to each other, a constant support, and unconditional love. Within a couple of years, I loved him every bit as much as Jonny did. He became one of my best friends as well. He was such a huge presence in our lives.
“When we had our wedding in Greece,” Jennifer Finnigan recalls, “Bob planned a special trip there just so he could play ‘our song’ as I walked down the aisle (I even begged him to tell his version of ‘The Aristocrats’ joke at our rehearsal dinner….and he did and it was one of the greatest moments ever).
“Our friendship with Bob was one we treasured beyond measure,” Finnigan continues. “He was a forever constant in our lives—Always there to offer support and love, cheerleading us, always giving us his huge and generous heart….and always, always, LAUGHTER. He was an anomaly like that….having experienced so much loss in his life, yet he always found the humor in there somewhere. That sharp wit and dark humor he masterfully wove around his pain.
“He was truly the kindest human, the greatest friend, and the world’s greatest father to his incredible daughters, whom we love like family,” shares Finnigan. “Everyone who knew him loved him—He was just good people. When he met his amazing wife Kelly, we knew it was right. She made him happy. And that made us happy. Bob gave Jonny the honor of officiating the ceremony (where Bob did about 5 minutes of standup during his vows… because he couldn’t help himself ;).
“The thought of never sitting across from him at one of our epic dinners, laughing until we cry, the thought of never being able to pick up the phone and text him randomly, about nothing, just to connect and laugh….it’s too painful to bear,” Jennifer Finnigan adds. “My heart hurts so much right now. For your daughters and your family and your wife….for all of us, your friends who loved you so dearly. Rest In Peace, friend and brother. We love you.”
