The Bold and the Beautiful Critic's Review April 4

When it comes to  The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of BB’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

BB is cooking up a shocking murder plot, and one of your favorite characters is on the chopping block. But which one are they planning on sacrificing?

Last week, we made what we considered to be a pretty compelling case for the victim to wind up being Felony Flo (Katrina Bowden). Soap characters just aren’t allowed to be happy for more than a half-dozen minutes or so, and Miss Fulton *ahem* we mean, Miss Logan, has just had one pleasant surprise after another. They’re setting it up perfectly for her to be taken out.

Or are they? You may feel the need to call us crazy, but after reviewing the five most recent episodes, we have two new prospective victims: Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson).

Surely it’s no coincidence that Thomas suddenly lost his cool head during that convo with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and began shooting his mouth off about his big, bad, and trampy stepmother. The one who point-blank told him he’d never get his crazy hands on her daughter. Might the “cured” and “no longer obsessed” Thomas snap and do away with one of the main impediments to his heart’s desire?

Or might it be Thomas himself who succumbs to a deadly attack? He’s got Brooke gunning for him, and she’s doing everything in her power to convince Liam (Scott Clifton) to fight back against Thomas (supposedly) worming his way into Hope’s (Annika Noelle) life. Could one of them do him in? How about Hope herself? Maybe she finds out the hard way that Thomas hasn’t really changed his ways.

Or perhaps we’re thinking way too hard about this and they’re just going to kill Vinny (Joe LoCicero). Everybody’s really, really mad at Vinny. And the last time this show promised us a “shocking death” they went and killed poor Emma Barber (Nia Sioux). Fingers crossed we aren’t in for another cop-out.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Further BB Musings

* As pointed out by our very own Senior West Coast Editor Michael Maloney, Brooke and Ridge first met beside the Forrester mansion swimming pool, so Ridge’s memory of seeing her “across the room” isn’t accurate as such.

* Earth to Brooke, come in Brooke. You are not, nor have you ever been a “responsible mother.” Responsible mothers don’t sleep with their daughter’s husband and/or boyfriends once, let alone twice. Responsible mothers don’t advise their children to take back adulterous spouses. Though kudos for recognizing crazy when you see it, girl!

* So, Quinn (Rena Sofer) has spent weeks worrying about the state of her and Shauna’s (Denise Richards) friendship despite the fact that we already SAW the two of them making up and moving on? Dear writers, please move the stories you already have in play on rather than rehash something that’s already played out onscreen.

* Speaking of Quinn, she barely won Eric (John McCook) back after her last devious scheme blew up in her face…so should she really be throwing her support behind Zoe (Kiara Barnes) against poor sweet Paris (Diamond White?

* The contentious confrontation between Hope and Flo was very long in coming, and so very appreciated, but there still exist some problems.

Namely, Ridge stated categorically at the top of the week that Brooke had yet to discuss the fact that Flo had been drafted into the Logan family. So, how did Hope suddenly become aware of the fact?

Also, why deprive us of some scenes featuring Hope going off on her mother and aunts for daring to dole out such rewards for the woman who kept her child away from her? Surely those would have been more welcome than the Quinn/Shauna power hour 2.0. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
