A Critic’s Review of The Bold and the Beautiful: Enough Is Enough

When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

If this past week proved anything, it’s that The Bold and the Beautiful needs to put a moratorium on social issues. It was beyond insulting to see Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) poignant struggle with ED devolve into carrying on style hijinks where the ex-wife gives him a lift that deflates whenever he’s in the presence of his current missus, but boy does McCook deliver with those faces; you never have to guess whether the old boy is riding high or feeling awfully low.

And to quote Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) – she who’s body can get even the rustiest engine started; she who can do things with one drop of honey that would make Dita Von Teese blush – “Why does Brooke have to get involved in everything?”

It’s bad enough that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is all but tucking Donna into Eric’s bed, but did we really need to see her giddily pressing Donna for salacious details about what when on between her and Eric? Did we really need to see her, and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) standing around tee-heeing over Eric getting an erection after hugging their sister? Don’t they have work that needs attending to?

Does anyone at Forrester Creations, aside from Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz), Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), and Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) do any actual work? Those three are in the development stage of a (very boring) triangle, and yet they find the time to do something productive.

And speaking of getting down to business…Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), The Bold and the Beautiful’s preeminent sociopath, has got her eyes on the (photoshopped) prize, and she knows exactly how she’s going to accomplish her crazed goals – if only she can get Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) on board.

We now understand her plan – torpedo Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) and John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) respective marriages, then get the two of them to fall in love – and, admittedly, it has a certain charm.

Lord knows that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) are coming off as hypocritical jerks, so we can easily imagine Finn and Hope throwing in the towel…and we have to agree with Sheila, Finn and Hope do make a cute couple.
