When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of BB’s week that was.
The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review
On BB, the past isn’t exactly prologued. It doesn’t matter what – or who – you did a decade ago, a summer ago, or even last week. If it doesn’t fit neatly into the current narrative, it’s summarily forgotten – or, worst-case scenario, completely rewritten.
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) had the gall to claim that Eric (John McCook) and Quinn (Rena Sofer) had been in a settled marriage for years, conveniently leaving out that he’d nearly tore the pair apart by kissing his stepmother.
Quinn nearly ruined her friendship with Shauna (Denise Richards) by insinuating that Shauna was out to snag Eric all for herself, and yet she left the two alone together so that she could run off and snog Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor).
Speaking of Carter, he read Zoe (Kiara Barnes) the riot act for her pursual of Zende (Delon de Metz) while they were engaged, and he went off on Zende for being the victim of an aggressive pursuer that he continually shut down…and yet he sleeps with Eric’s wife.
Carter refuses to forgive Zoe for her trespass, and yet he’s going to bat for a woman whose crimes are legion, and he has zero qualms about continuing his affair with a married woman? Hypocrite much?
And when it comes to rewrites, the number being done with the circumstances concerning Vinny’s (Joe LoCicero) death is utterly laughable. Bill (Don Diamont) swore up and down to Liam (Scott Clifton) that he checked their victim’s vitals and ascertained that he was dead – but he, of course, didn’t.

We watched him steal Vinny’s cell phone and wallet and flee the scene, but he never once felt for a pulse, listened for a heartbeat, or anything else remotely resembling what he now says he did. We might not be able to trust the characters, but we can trust our own two eyes.
Further BB Musings
* So, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Vinny have been friends since they were kids? Then how come every single picture of the two of them in that memorial slideshow were snaps dating back no more than a few years?
* First, it seemed that Chief Baker (Dan Martin) considered Thomas his prime suspect in the Vinny Walker Homicide; then it looked like he had Liam in his sights. Now, it appears that he’s reversed his position and decided that Thomas is indeed the most likely killer.
Correct us if we’re wrong, but wouldn’t it behoove the good policeman to also interrogate Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)? They are, after all, the couple that very nearly weren’t thanks to Vinny’s machinations. Seems like they would be the ones to have the strongest motive to murder.
* Did anybody else find it a tad tacky – or was it icky? – that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Eric stood around talking about how much they loved each other, and how Eric was the king of romantic surprises IN FRONT OF RIDGE?
* Just when we started to feel some begrudging respect for Hope (Annika Noelle), she had to go and welcome Liam back into her home, and into her heart, with open arms. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
