A native of Evanston, Illinois, Weissmann’s love for performing started at the age of three, when he put on a production of The Wizard of Oz at a family gathering. He later segued into local theater and began landing commercial work before eventually heading to Los Angeles to pursue his acting dreams.

1. He made his television debut on Girl Meets World in 2014, where he worked as an extra for 10 episodes. He was bumped up to an under-five in one episode portraying a nerdy party guest and given one line. “I don’t even think they ended up keeping my line in the show, but I was like, ‘This is my Oscar moment,’” Weissmann told The Panther.
2. Acting isn’t Weissman’s only talent. He’s also a writer. He got his start via essays that ran in the Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, and Byline. In fact, he came out via his piece in the Los Angeles Times.
3. He’s a poet too. He released his first book, Her, Him & I, last June. It’s a collection of poetry and prose exploring the complexities of heartache, gender roles, queerness, and toxic masculinity.
4. Among his favorite coming-of-age films and stories, Weissmann cites Lady Bird, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Love, Simon. He watched the latter as a teenager in a theater with a bunch of friends. “I was closeted at the time, and I was like, ‘What is this movie? This is so weird,’” Weissmann recalled to Out, noting that it “was definitely so cool” to see a story like that “getting told on a wide release mainstream level. So that was really special to see.”
5. Weissman is best known for his role as Nate on Peacock’s Saved by The Bell reboot, which he played from 2020 until the show’s cancellation in 2021. The character was a popular school athlete.
6. He has also appeared in acclaimed series like Dear White People (as Roy Jr. in 2021) and American Housewife (as Josh #1 in 2019).
7. In his spare time, Weissmann listens to podcasts like SmartLess and The Mel Robbins Podcast. He’s also enjoys playing tennis and pickleball.
