Our next official book club gathering is coming soon — scheduled for Wednesday, August 30, at 4 PM PT/ 7 PM ET — and we’re pleased to announce we’ll have a special guest in attendance. Kate Linder is set to join us in honor of Jeanne Cooper.
This marks our third fan-chosen tome, and we couldn’t be more excited to take a deep dive into the life story of daytime dynamo and primetime pioneer Jeanne Cooper. Her life, her career, and her passion are all beautifully recounted in her biography.
Kate Linder took to the stage time and time again with Jeanne Cooper on The Young and the Restless as Katherine Chancellor’s wonderful and quirky maid Esther Valentine. Their friendship on and off screen spanned decades, so we thought it quite fitting to have her come and speak about her time working with Cooper. If you would like to take part, we would love to have you there too! Sign up using the registration form below!
Tickets are free, but registration is required. We can’t wait to see you there!

In the lead-up to it, we’re taking a look at what our fellow bookworms have to say about your latest selection.
Jeanne Cooper, the Daytime Emmy Award-winning American actress best known for her portrayal of Katherine Chancellor on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, recounts the steps and missteps of her eight-decade career in Not Young, Still Restless.
Exploring a career that began with the birth of a phenomenon called television, Cooper’s life story co-stars a cast of characters that reads like a who’s-who of Hollywood’s Golden Age: Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis, Henry Fonda, and Shelley Winters, to name just a few. Intimate, honest, and inspiring, Not Young, Still Restless is a fascinating memoir of a life in daytime drama—and proof positive that growing older doesn’t have to mean giving up.
Readers’ Response:
“She is frank and gutsy and, at times, far more revealing and honest than most celebs. She has a unique way with words and storytelling that left me howling…” — Amazon Reviewer.
“Get it, read it and enjoy it – they don’t make them like Jeanne Cooper anymore!” — Amazon Reviewer.
“One of the most honest forthright autobiographies I’ve ever had the pleasure to read.” — Amazon Reviewer.
“A master class in how to write the perfect memoir, balanced between gossip, insight, and self-promotion…should be required reading for any future celebrity considering writing a book of their own.” — Alina Adams for Soap Hub.
“Cooper pulls no punches, but also lauds praise upon many of those who have shaped her life in acting and the personal relationships she was able to garner from these interactions. A highly entertaining and somewhat educational piece that many readers will enjoy, even if they have to admit their guilty pleasure…Cooper bursts the bubble that many viewers likely have…” — Canadamatt for Book Reviews To Ponder.
