Soap Hub Insiders, here is the fireside recap video for the live chat that took place on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2:30pm ET/ 11:30 am PT with Days of our Lives star Eric Martsolf. The talented actor (Brady Black on Days of Our Lives) talked about a variety of topics with Soap Hub editors and Soap Hub Insider attendees.
The Daytime Emmy-winner shared news about his latest endeavor, the digital program Ride Share: The Series, in which he plays Keith, a ride share driver, who doesn’t always have the best interests of his ares in mind. “[Keith] does things against our moral fabric,” explained Martsolf. “It’s fun to play. He’s [actually] a little bit like Brady in that he acts before he thinks. The decisions he makes are hilarious sometimes.”
As the series progresses, viewers will come to learn why Keith does the things he does. “He really doesn’t wan to steal from good people,” Martsolf notes. The actor notes he doesn’t say yes to every project presented before him, a lesson he learned early on in his career when he explored doing a film. Unbeknownst to Martsolf, it was an, shall we say, “adult” film.
“They asked me if I had anything against love scenes and I said, ‘No! They’re fine,'” Martsofl recalls. After he got his script, he saw that playing the part involved some love scenes that were “beyond my being comfortable.”
Now, Martsolf reports he’s back at the Burbank Studios and shooting scenes once more for DAYS — all under the careful watch of a COVID-19 on-set safety specialist. “It’s weird because of all the precautionary measures,” the actor notes. “There aren’t as many hugs going on — none, really. But we’re creating content.
“We’re using the same COVID [safety] organization that the other shows are,” Martsolf adds. “There’s a ‘COVID cop’ on the set. That’s the world we’re in right now.”
Martsolf has had many leading ladies during his Salem stint, including current on-screen love interest Stacy Haiduk (Kristen). Eric’s other love interests include Melanie (Molly Burnett), Madison (Sarah Brown), and Theresa (Jen Lilley) — but don’t ask him to choose a favorite.
“It’s like [when you go to] Baskin Robbins,” he suggests. “They’re all good. They’re all different. It’s good to have a variety. I don’t have a favorite.”
