This is one moment for the record books. Chef Lawrence Snowden quit Below Deck after one episode. They usually say there are too many cooks in the kitchen. In this case, there were too many cameras in the kitchen, which prevented him from focusing on his work.
Short Fuse
Snowden couldn’t find his stride at the start of the charter season. He quit before the charter season began. Snowden claimed that he was set up to fail. He didn’t like having cameras around him as he prepared dishes for the charter guests. Being thrown into a reality TV environment was overwhelming for him.
“I think, at this point, I’m just too pissed off. I don’t need this in my life,” Snowden explained in his confessional. “F*** this, I’m out,” he exclaimed in the galley.” The British chef struggled to adjust to a completely different work environment. He didn’t understand that cameras would be following his every move.

Snowden broke the fourth wall and called out the camera crew. He got a case of stage fright. Snowden said he was “shaking” and thought he was “going to have a panic attack,” even though he’s never had one before. The cast member told a producer that he was quitting the show. The quick decision felt like a weight “lifted” from his shoulders. “I’m not one to just pack things in on the first day. It feels a bit like a failure. Problem is, everything is going wrong around you, obviously… There is a limit,” Snowden admitted.
Not Harsh Feelings
Despite how he felt in the galley, Snowden has no harsh feelings toward Captain Kerry Titheradge and his crew members. “I think the crew is great, and Captain Kerry’s a nice guy. He’s genuine, and he’s only been good to me. But my gut’s telling me, ‘Just walk away,'” Soden was quoted by the BravoTV blog.

He agreed to stay a little longer until Chef Anthony Iracane feels comfortable. He’s hoping to redeem himself after getting fired in Season 11. “I’m not a loser, and I can be a winner. And I can make all my family proud. It’s going to be showtime. It’s going to be the Tony show,” Iracane proudly said. But a preview teased that Iracane and Chief Stew Fraser Olender will butt heads 16 days later. Iracane still blames Olender for his firing.
Below Deck airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes stream the following day on Peacock.
