This was the first Christmas for Wheel of Fortune hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White. Though the two have been friends for decades, they celebrated on the game show for the first time. Ryan took over Pat Sajak’s job in September 2024. Fans have praised this transition because it brings more of Vanna into the spotlight.
Vanna’s Generosity
Ryan couldn’t stop gushing about Vanna in a new interview with PEOPLE. These two are obviously good friends, and you can tell. Ryan shared that Vanna is the same person viewers have grown to love. He went on to call her “super generous, sweet, and kind.”
That’s when he revealed his unusual Christmas gift. Ryan has to keep his smile bright whenever he’s on TV. But he admitted that he’s an avid coffee drinker. He loves drinking “very strong black coffee.” It’s hard to believe, but there are times when his smile is a little dull.
Vanna gave Ryan teeth-whitening strips as a gift. “She went to the store the next day. She brought me white strips,” Ryan shared. The “sweet” gesture touched him.
Elsewhere in the interview, Ryan also admitted that he “rehearsed” for his new role on WoF. He would practice in empty conference rooms while he traveled. Ryan is still in awe of nabbing the gig. “I still can’t believe my luck being here with you tonight to continue this legacy of this incredible show with all of you and, of course, my good friend, Vanna White,” he remarked.

Remember When?
Vanna is also known for her sparkling smile. She takes oral health seriously. In the early ’90s, she became the face of Perfect Smile. She even appeared in a commercial that aired during episodes of WoF. Viewers could dial the 1-800 number to order the teeth whitening kit that costs less than $20.
This was unheard of at the time, as teeth whitening was considered a cosmetic procedure performed in some dental offices. Do you remember this ad?
