Many soap stars have lost their homes in the Los Angeles wildfires. The fires burning in and around Los Angeles have also claimed the homes of several big-name celebrities. The fire originated in Palisades and spread to other neighboring counties, destroying thousands of homes and structures.

Update on L.A. Wildfires

Firefighters have been tirelessly battling the wildfires that destroyed homes and killed 24 people, reports The Associated Press. Unfortunately, dangerous winds could return and cause more fires from Monday into Wednesday. Communities have come together during this time.

Celebrities and soap stars use social media to share how their followers can help. The fires have hurt more than just L.A.’s iconic landmarks and celebrity homes. It’s also impacted the lives of ordinary people. Los Angeles is known for its rich diversity. There are communities of Black families, where many own homes.

How to Help

There are several ways to help, but it can be confusing. CBS posted a video on its official Instagram page to break through the confusion. Followers can donate to the American Red Cross to help those affected by the wildfires. They can visit the American Red Cross website or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

The Bold and the Beautiful alum Denise Richards shared more resources and ways to help. She posted a slide on her Instagram from Locale Magazine, which includes a list of local charities, such as Community Foundation’s Wildlife Recovery Fund, California Fire Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and World Central Kitchen.

The post also includes a list of human and animal evacuation shelters and volunteer opportunities. Denise wrote, “My heart breaks for our community. Please share with all who may need this. We have a long road to recovery ahead. Sending love and prayers to all firefighters and first responders who are still risking their lives to keep us all safe.Together, we will rebuild! 🙏🏼💔”
