On The Bold and the Beautiful, Lawrence Saint-Victor may turn out to be the hero that Katie Logan has always wanted to have in her life. And by “hero,” we mean someone who’s not attracted to Brooke! Seriously, Carter’s a good guy, and his portrayer tells us he’d like to play a super-fellow on the big screen, too.
In a recent interview with Lawrence Saint-Victor, Soap Hub asked the 10-year B&B veteran actor if there were a superhero he’d like to bring to the big screen. Followers of the actor’s social media aren’t surprised to learn that he’d like to play a visitor from outer space who spends his days as a mild-mannered reporter.
Yep, Saint-Victor wants to play Kal-El, the last son of Krypton. “First of all, absolutely,” the actor responds to our question about donning some superhero tights. “In my mind,” he grins, “I already am one! Superman is my guy. Superman.”
Saint-Victor stays in shirtless scene shape, given his job as B&B’s Carter. He’s even been known to wear a Superman shirt when he works out. “I feel like that’d be a pretty easy fit,” he says. And Saint-Victor isn’t just talking about being tall and muscular like Superman. Unlike grim detective Batman, Superman is more of a Boy Scout.
“He’s a character I understand, and his value system is what I aspire to be like,” Saint-Victor adds. “If there were a world in which I could play Superman…that would be great.”
Lawrence Saint-Victor wouldn’t be the first former daytime star to play Superman. There’s certainly a tradition of actors from the world of soap operas being cast in the part. The late Christopher Reeve (ex-Ben Harper, Love of Life) played Superman in four movies starting with 1978’s Superman — the movie that claimed: “you will believe a man can fly!” (We did!)
Also, Brandon Routh (ex-Seth Anderson, One Life to Live) played Superman in 2006’s Superman Returns. The film also featured Parker Posey (ex-Tess Shelby, As the World Turns) as Kitty Kowalski and Tristan Lake Leabu (ex-Reed Hellstrom, The Young, and the Restless) as Jason White. And speaking of Y&R, Sasha Calle (ex-Lola Rosales) is set to make her big-screen debut as Supergirl later this year. Might Hollywood ask Saint-Victor to go “up, up, and away?” If it happens, you read it here first!
