Brooke Logan, played by Katherine Kelly Lang, on The Bold and the Beautiful is well aware that conflict is the essence of daytime drama. She’s in a bad spot right now as the love of her life, her destiny, Ridge Forrester has walked out on her. It’s likely going to be a while before the star-crossed lovers reunite. Lang chatted with Soap Hub about Brooke’s state of mind these days.
Katherine Kelly Lang Talks Brooke’s Predicament
Soap Hub caught up with the actress when B&B hosted a press event to honor Kimberlin Brown for her 30-year run as Sheila Carter on the half-hour soap. Lang told Soap Hub that Sheila and Brooke once had a very different relationship than the one they have now. However, Brooke falling for men other than Ridge does appear to be a constant in her life.
Has the actress read the online speculation that the supportive talks that Brooke’s been having with son-in-law Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) might turn into something more? “A little bit,” Lang responds. “I’ve heard some things, yes. ”
Brooke’s History of Being Unlucky in Love
As veteran B&B viewers know, Brooke has a habit of falling into relationships or having encounters that may not be in her best long-term interests. She wed (though it was later ruled invalid) Grant Chambers (Charles Grant) after Ridge Forrester dumped her for Taylor Hayes. She fell for Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) despite his relationship with her daughter Bridget Forrester, which resulted in Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) being born.
Let’s not forget Brooke accidentally having sex with Hope’s beau Oliver Jones (Zack Conroy), when she thought her masked lover was really Ridge. So, speculation that Brooke could connect with Liam is understandable. “There’s also a point where Brooke has to learn from her mistakes and do something different,” Lang offers.
Katherine Kelly Lang on Forgiving Ridge
Might it be best for the character to spend time alone and maybe not jump into another relationship? “Yes,” Lang says. “Desperately.” In time, it’s likely that the truth will come out; Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) used a voice-altering app on his son Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) phone to frame Brooke for making a call to Child Protective Services (CPS). The couple certainly had other problems but Ridge believing Brooke tried to take Douglas from Thomas, was the catalyst that caused him to call the whole thing off.
Should Brooke make Ridge beg for forgiveness if and/or when he discovers that his beloved Logan was innocent? “Oh, yeah,” Lang says. “IF she takes him back. On the ground. Beg. For a year.”
“That may be too short [a time],” Atkinson interjects with a grin.
