B&B Star Heather Tom Directs Another Dynasty Episode

Heather Tom, beloved as Katie Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful, has once again stepped behind the camera. The award-winning actress is the director of tonight’s Dynasty episode.

Soap Hub caught up with Tom and got the scoop on life behind the lens. “It’s been great,” Tom tells Soap Hub. “I’m going back and doing a third show [this season].” By the end of this season, Tom will have six episodes of Dynasty under her belt.

“I hope to [do] a lot more,” Tom says of directing episodic television. “Things are finally kind of opening up [as] COVID is hopefully mitigating.” The actress/director loves the environment on the CW series. “The crew is great. The cast is great.”

Dressed in Sable

Might Heather Tom join the show in front of the camera? Viewers have yet to see a version of some of the show’s original characters in the reboot including Sable Colby (the role originated on the first Dynasty series by Stephanie Beacham.) “I don’t know about that,” chuckles Tom, who takes a beat and then adds with a smile, “It’s a fun show. It’d be really fun [to do] as an actor. Maybe!”

Tom has directed the Dynasty episode titled Mind Your Own Business, which airs tonight. A show description reads: “As Liam’s (Adam Huber) filming begins, things do not go as planned, and Culhane (Robert C. Riley) makes some surprising decisions. Blake (Grant Show) offers to assist Sam (Rafael de la Fuente) in celebrating some good news. Meanwhile, Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) seeks business assistance from Alexis (Elaine Hendrix) and Dominique (Michael Michele), which does not go well. Meanwhile, Jeff (Sam Adegoke) seeks assistance from an unexpected source.”

Heather Tom and Grant Show Both Direct

Speaking of upcoming casting on Dynasty, Soap Hub hears the show is looking to cast the role of Heather (is the character’s handle a nod to Heather Tom?). She’s described as a female in her 50s, who is a former governess to the Carringtons. Heather appears in two timelines — present day and early 2000s. Heather is described as a ‘bombshell’ who has a wicked sense of humor and enjoys stirring the pot when it comes to her former employer, Blake Carrington. Heather is set to appear in the 17th episode this season, which will be directed by Show.

Dynasty airs on The CW on Fridays at 9 p.m. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
