Who Did This Well-Coiffed Young Lady Grow Up To Play On Soaps?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps but can you guess who this little cutie grew up to be?

Star Of The Soaps

Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that probably isn’t much of a hint.

So try these on for size. This actress spent her formative years living in Great Britain and she made Daytime Emmy Award history by becoming the first actress to win a statuette in the Outstanding Younger Actress category. She is a soap hopper (with three serials under her belt) who began her career at the age of 11. And she is well regarded by horror fans for her starring turn in an early 1980s slasher film.

But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Heather Tom (Katie Logan Spencer, BB), True O’Brien (ex-Paige Larson, DAYS), Tamara Braun (ex-Kim/Carly, GH) or Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, YR)?

Heather Tom

Though Tom did indeed win two Younger Actress Emmys (in 1993 and 1999), and despite her status as a soap hopper – she’s had roles on YR, One Life to Live (ex-Kelly Cramer), and BB – Tom was a full 14 years of age at the time she began her professional acting career. So she isn’t today’s featured star.

True O’Brien

O’Brien was 5 years old when she began appearing in commercials. However, her first professional acting credit – a guest role on Disney’s Jessie – was achieved when she was 18. And though she did indeed win the 2016 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress, DAYS has been the only soap that O’Brien has starred in and she hasn’t appeared in a high body count thriller. So she isn’t today’s mystery child.

Tamara Braun

And neither is Chicago native Braun. This in spite of her status as a soap hopper – she has, after all, appeared on GH, DAYS (ex-Ava Vitali; ex-Taylor Walker), and All My Children (ex-Reese Williams) – and is a Daytime Emmy Award winner.

Tracey Bregman

Though born in Munich, Germany, Bregman spent the first 10 years of her life living in Great Britain. She began acting at the age of 11 and among her many credits are three daytime dramas – DAYS (ex-Donna Temple Craig), YR, and BB – and the 1981 slasher Happy Birthday to Me. In 1985, Bregman made Daytime Emmy history by winning the first-ever Outstanding Younger Actress award – then known as the Outstanding Ingenue award.

So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Tracey Bregman – who has been playing YR’s Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (minus a hiatus or two) since January 25, 1983 – then you were absolutely correct!
