They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this precious and pouty little king grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young man (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. He is an accomplished drummer and lyricist. He did a national campaign for Nintendo. His first acting credit was a daytime soap. His first film role was in an LGBTQ project released in 2004. He has appeared in music videos. And he once portrayed a superhero.
But just who can he be? Is this a photograph of Jacob Young (ex-Rick Forrester, BB), Chandler Massey (Will Horton, DAYS), Ryan Carnes (Lucas Jones, GH), or Justin Hartley (ex-Adam Newman, YR)?
Jacob Young
Young’s professional debut was in BB, where he played legacy character, Rick Forrester. And as a talented singer, he has certainly appeared in a number of music videos. He even made his film debut in 2004 – but it was in the romantic comedy The Girl Next Door. And since he’s yet to embody a famous comic book character, Young is clearly not today’s featured star.
Chandler Massey
Though he is best known for playing DAYS’ Will Horton, Massey had a healthy resume before joining the soap. Among his early roles were guest appearances on One Tree Hill and Eastbound & Down as well as the short film For What I Had to Fear.
Justin Hartley
Hartley’s first professional credit was the NBC daytime drama Passions, in which he played Nicholas Foxworth “Fox” Crane. And between 2006 and 2011 he played Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow in the WB produced series Smallville. However, his film debut was courtesy of the romantic drama Race You to the Bottom which was released in 2005.
Ryan Carnes
Carnes’ career was jumpstarted thanks to a national campaign for Nintendo, which featured the budding thespian front and center in both the print and TV advertisements. Soon after, he landed the roles of Lucas Jones on GH and Marc Everhard in the film Eating Out.
In 2010, Carnes played Chris Moore/Kit Walker AKA The Phantom. Aside from his acting, Carnes works as a drummer and songwriter. He has appeared in two music videos: Mistake (2006) and Me Lloras (2018).
So if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Ryan Carnes, then you were absolutely correct!
