They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps but can you guess who this soulful eyed little one grew up to be?

Star Of The Soaps

Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.

So try these on for size. She is a soap hopper (with at least two serials under her belt) who began her acting career at the age of 6. She is also a former beauty pageant winner.

But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan, BB), Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady, DAYS), Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe, GH), or Eva LaRue (ex-Celeste Rosales, YR)?

Jennifer Gareis

Sure, Gareis competed in quite a few beauty contests – Miss Pennsylvania USA (where she placed second), Miss New York USA (which she won), and Miss USA 1994. And yes, she has appeared on two soaps (The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful). But she isn’t today’s featured actress.

Victoria Konefal

Though she did win the Miss Poland USA crown, Konefal didn’t begin her professional acting career until she was 19 years old. And DAYS has been the only soap that she has appeared on. So she isn’t today’s mystery child.

Lynn Herring

Herring was crowned Miss Virginia USA in 1977 and she was the 4th runner-up for the title of Miss USA that same year. But she has four daytime dramas to her credit – General Hospital, Port Charles, Days of our Lives (where she played duplicitous lawyer Lisanne Gardner) and As the World Turns (where she played gold digger Audrey Coleman). And she wasn’t bitten by the acting bug until well after her college days.

Eva LaRue

LaRue was 6 when she began appearing in commercials (often singing an accompanying “jingle” for them). After a string of smaller film roles and guest appearances on primetime programs – not to mention her winning the Danfranc Productions Miss California Empire 1984 title – she appeared on the now-defunct soap Santa Barbara as Margot.

But she gained even more recognition (and thousands of loyal fans) for her work on All My Children – where she played Dr. Maria Santos Grey. She has subsequently become well known for her seven-year run on the CBS hit CSI: Miami (ex-Natalia Boa Vista). In 2019, she guest starred on YR as Rosales family matriarch Celeste.

So, if you guessed that perhaps the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Eva LaRue, then you were absolutely correct!
