They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this bonnet wearing little cutie grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. She filmed her first commercial at the age of 5. By the time she was 9, she was starring in local theatrical productions. She made her television debut in an episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. She is a soap hopper, a Daytime Emmy Award nominee, and she married a man that she first met on a soundstage.
But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Ashley Jones (ex-Dr. Bridget Forrester, BB), Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker Brady, DAYS), Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones, GH) or Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman, YR)?
Arianne Zucker
Zucker did indeed marry a fellow thespian that she met on a soundstage – DAYS veteran Kyle Lowder – and she is a four-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee. However, DAYS has been the only soap opera that Zucker has appeared in, so she’s automatically out of the running as the potential answer to today’s identity query.
Kirsten Storms
Storms checks a number of our boxes. She appeared in a commercial at the age of 5. She married her former GH co-star Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara). She’s appeared in two daily soaps (DAYS and GH). And she was one of the performers nominated for the 2009 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress.
However, her television debut came courtesy of the Disney Channel Original Movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. So she isn’t today’s featured performer.
Melissa Ordway
And neither is Ordway. She might have met hubby Justin Gaston on the set of the 2011 feature film Escapee, but she launched her TV career with the aid of the MTV reality series The Assistant, which was followed by roles on Entourage and How I Met Your Mother.
Ashley Jones
Jones was 5 years old when she filmed her first commercial, and four years later – during which time she had appeared in a number of nationally aired commercials and a plethora of print ads – she joined the Actors Theater of Huston where she starred in a number of productions.
In 1993, the 17-year-old actress made her TV debut via two episodes of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. That same year, she appeared in the CBS mini-series The Fire Next Time which is where she met her first husband Noah Nelson.
Subsequently, Jones joined the casts of YR (where she played Megan Dennison), BB, and later GH. Her work in the former series translated into back-to-back Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Younger Actress.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Ashley Jones, then you were absolutely correct!
