They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this aspiring warrior queen grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. She was discovered at the age of 9. She has appeared in only one daytime drama. She had a recurring role on FOX’s House. Her work in horror films has earned her the moniker “scream queen.” She is married to a fellow thespian. And she has appeared in a music video featuring Weird Al Yankovic.
But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Katrina Bowden (Flo Fulton, BB), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah Horton, DAYS), Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Quartermaine, GH), or Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland, YR)?
Katrina Bowden
Bowden has appeared on only one daily serial – BB. She’s been seen in a number of music videos. And she has earned her title as a scream queen thanks to the plethora of horror films that she has starred in (The Shortcut, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Piranha 3DD, Hold Your Breath, etc.).
However, Bowden never had a recurring role House, and none of her music videos have been for singles released by Weird Al. So she isn’t the answer to today’s identity query.
Linsey Godfrey
Godfrey has been romantically linked to actor Breckin Meyer since 2017 and she has had leading parts in two horror pictures: The Culling and Altergeist. But she’s also a soap hopper and she’s never appeared in a single episode of House, let alone as a recurring cast member. So Godfrey isn’t today’s featured star.
Camryn Grimes
And neither is Grimes. She’s been acting professionally since the age of 7, though she’s only appeared on one soap, Grimes never appeared in House nor has she been cast in a horror film.
Amber Tamblyn
Tamblyn was 9 when she was discovered during a performance of the play Pippi Longstocking and she went on to appear in a number of film and TV projects. Among the many were GH, House, Joan of Arcadia, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret (which starred her future husband David Cross), and features such as The Ring, The Grudge 2, and Blackout.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Amber Tamblyn – who can be seen in Weird Al’s video for Eat It (We’re All In This Together), and who initially posted the pic to social media with the question, “Is this a #fbf of me dressed up as Red Sonja for Halloween in the 80’s, or my current inner child whenever I hear someone say women aren’t electable, hard to tell” – then you were absolutely correct!
