They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this bonneted wee one grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. She performed in a children’s rock group. She hosted segments of a popular educational children’s television series. She is a soap hopper. And she had a small role in a Cohen Brothers movie.
But just who she can be? Is this a photograph of Karla Mosley (ex-Maya Avant, BB), Renee Jones (ex-Lexie Carver, DAYS), Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson, GH), or Tonya Lee Williams (ex-Dr. Olivia Barber Winters, YR)?
Renee Jones
Jones went through two tours of duty at DAYS – first she spent a year playing Salem PD secretary Nikki Wade; then she played Lexie Carver, a Salem PD officer turned physician. But the NBC soap stands as her only foray into the daytime soap genre so Jones is automatically out of the running as the potential answer to our identity query.
Sydney Mikayla
And the same goes for Mikayla. This in spite of the fact that she has appeared on two soaps – DAYS and GH – and that one of her earliest TV roles was an episode of the educational children’s series Yo Gabba Gabba!
Tonya Lee Williams
Williams’ television debut took place on the set of Polka Dot Door, an educational children’s TV show, which she hosted between 1980 and 1983. And she also has two soap operas under her belt – Generations (ex-Linda Dukes) and YR. But she isn’t today’s featured star.
Karla Mosley
During her youth, Mosley joined the children’s rock ensemble Sugar Beats and became known for her rendition of Rockin’ Robin. In 2003, she became the youngest cast member of the children’s infotainment series Hi-5. She typically hosted the physical education segment Body Move, and she also voiced the animated character Chatterbox.
Mosley’s subsequent acting credits include a stint on Guiding Light, guest appearances in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Hart of Dixie, and Gossip Girl as well as roles in films such as Red Hook, How to Train Your Husband, and the Cohen Brothers effort, Burn After Reading.
So if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Karla Mosley, then you were absolutely correct!
