They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps but can you guess who this little darling with the cowlick grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young lady (now all grown up) is currently starring on one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. She is a Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress and soap hopper – with at least two soaps under her belt. She created and starred in her own comedy web series, and she bravely (and publicly) discussed her fertility issues and her decision to start a family with the aid of a surrogate. She is also the proud owner of a skincare line.
But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Denise Richards (Shauna Fulton, BB), Deidre Hall (Dr. Marlena Evans, DAYS), Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves, GH), or Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers, YR)?
Denise Richards
Though Richards did indeed launch her own skincare line (CBme Beauty) in November 2019, BB has served as her introduction to the soap opera genre. And despite her natural talents as an actress, she has yet to be recognized for her efforts by the Daytime Emmy Award voters (but we suspect it’s just a matter of time). So, Richards isn’t today’s featured star.
Deidre Hall
Nor is Hall. And this is in spite of her willingness to share with her public her struggles to become a mother – problems that were eventually solved thanks to Robin B., the woman who agreed to carry a child for Hall and her then-husband Steve Sohmer.
Cynthia Watros
Sure, Watros has appeared on multiple soap operas – Guiding Light (ex-Annie Dutton, RN), Another World (temporary Vicky Hudson recast), YR (ex-Kelly Andrews), and GH. Yes, she has a Daytime Emmy Award (won for her work at GL).
And she did star in the web series Cynthia Watros Gets Lost. But the actress (and mother of two) did not launch a line of skincare products or conceive a child with the help of a surrogate.
Michelle Stafford
Stafford has brought two compelling and thoroughly complicated characters to life. The first was YR’s Phyllis (a role for which she was awarded two Daytime Emmys). The second is GH’s Nina Reeves.
She tickled funny bones everywhere with her work in the original web comedy The Stafford Project and she touched people’s hearts with her valiant struggle for motherhood. And since 2016, she has been helping men and women everywhere renew their skin with her Skin Nation products.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Michelle Stafford – who has been wreaking havoc on YR on-and-off since October 17, 1994 – then you were absolutely correct!
