There’s a whole roster of talent-laden families – including the Barrymores, the Fondas, the Gabors, the Redgraves, and the Estevez/Sheens. And there are a number of soap stars who have equally famous family members.
Which Soap Star Is It?
All of these actors are currently starring in one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless.
And all of them have famous or well-known relatives also operating in “the biz.” However, only one can claim a relationship with an actor who’s played characters in series such as E.R. and Party and Five and who has voiced a multitude of characters in animated programs created and executive produced by Seth McFarlane.
But who can that actor be? Is it Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan, BB), Drake Hogestyn (John Black, DAYS), Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin, GH), or Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland, YR)?
Katherine Kelly Lang
Though she isn’t today’s featured star, Lang is no slouch in the famous family department. Her mother, Judy Lang, was an actress who appeared on series like Get Smart, The Wild Wild West, and Bewitched. Her father, Keith R. Wegeman was an Olympic ski jumper (and guested as a skier on Route 66) who also provided the silhouette for the Jolly Green Giant. And her grandfather, Charles Lang, is an Oscar-winning cinematographer.
Drake Hogestyn
Hogestyn is a proud papa of four and his only son, Ben, has followed in his celebrity footsteps. Ben’s constantly evolving resume so far boasts a run as Lucas Jones on GH, as well as stints on DAYS, The Division, BB, Entourage, Cold Case a number of short films and voice-over work for the video game L.A. Noire – but no credits for the previously mentioned shows.
Kin Shriner
To Shriner’s left is his father, Herbert, a humorist, radio personality, and television host. To his right, his brother, Will, an equally prolific talk show host, pageant emcee, and TV series director. But neither meets the qualifications necessary to be the answer to today’s identity query.
Camryn Grimes
Grimes’ paternal uncle, Scott, is a well-known actor and singer, probably best known for his six-year role on E.R. as Archie Morris, M.D. and his tenure on Party of Five as Will McCorkle. Fans of American Dad and Family Guy will recognize him as the voice of Steve Smith and Kevin Swanson respectively – as well as a whole host of other characters.
So if you guessed that the soap star in question was Camryn Grimes, then you were absolutely correct!
